MASTER OF SCIENCE IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The common regulations for the Masters’ degree in the University of Nairobi shall apply. In addition, the applicant must be:

(i)     A holder of at least an Upper Second Class honours degree in any degree or equivalent in non-classified degrees.

or

(ii)         A holder of a Lower Second Class honours degree in any degree or equivalent in non-classified degrees, with at least two (2) years post- qualification work experience.

or

(iii)       A holder of Lower Second Class Honors or its equivalent plus a post graduate diploma in a relevant area of study.

(iv)        A holder of any other qualification accepted by the Senate to be equivalent to the above.

 

CREDIT TRANSFER AND EXEMPTIONS

Applicants who have completed equivalent Masters course units in other Senate recognized universities may, with the approval of the Senate, be allowed to seek exemptions or credit transfers up to a maximum of one third (1/3) of the core course units. Students seeking to receive exemptions from or credit transfers for any prior course units done will need to fill official application forms, which require:

(i)     A list of the University of Nairobi core course units for which the student is requesting credit transfer.

(ii)         Official transcripts, indicating courses that may be equivalent and;

(iii)       Description and syllabus/outlines for the courses previously taken and passed. In addition there may be an exemption examination. 

(iv)        All those seeking to transfer credits will be required to pay an appropriate credit transfer/exemption application fee.

  2. Certified copies of undergraduate degree certificate and transcripts
  3. KNEC C plain applicants to attach certified copy of diploma from KNEC in addition to i and ii.
  4. KNEC C- applicants to attach certified copy of diploma from KNEC in addition to i and ii.
